Defining the Elements - Katherine St Angelo

7th March - 19th April
EastSide Visitor Centre, 402 Newtownards Road, BT4 1HH, Belfast

St. Angelo’s work ‘Defining the Elements’ is a series of figurative landscapes that explores the relationship we have with our environment and how it is tied to our own ‘emotional landscape’. Each work is a portrayal of her own memories and emotions using the forms, impression and sense of the earth and sky to encapsulate moments in time, thoughts and feelings. The familiar, the recognisable and the vague elements of our landscapes presented in her work seek to elicit a natural resonance and connection.

Katherine St. Angelo is a mixed media artist (BA Hons, Ulster University 2003, Fine and Applied Textiles). Her practice encompasses textiles, photography, printmaking, painting, collage and recycled materials. Her work has been exhibited in numerous group shows and is held in both private and organisational collections including The World Museum Liverpool. She was recently awarded an artist’s residency in Gdansk, Poland where she produced and exhibited a new body of work. St. Angelo is currently a member of Creative Exchange Artist Studios.
