The Gertrude Star Flute Band, with newly formed Women’s Choir and with some of NI’S finest contemporary musicians including Matt McGinn and Duke Special will perform Live at C.S. Lewis Square on Friday 8th July.
Following on from a sold out performance at THE MAC the musicians and singers are coming together once again to bring the fun- filled, foot- stomping performance to east Belfast.
This collaboration was made possible through the People Make the East programmes, which aims to challenge negative perceptions around flute bands, showcase the wealth of talent found within the community as well as explore east Belfast through music and culture.
Whether you’re familiar with marching bands or not, come and experience east Belfast’s abundance of unsung creative talent and leave completely uplifted; just don’t blame us if the songs are so catchy they get stuck in your head for weeks afterwards!
All welcome at this family friendly event.
A bar and concession stands will be on site. This event is outdoors so please dress for the weather. This is a standing event but folding chairs are allowed.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Angel Wishes, the Gertrude Star Band’s chosen charity.
This event is part of the EastSide July Weekender, a series of outdoor events taking place Live at C.S. Lewis Square, Thursday 7th – Saturday 9th July.
EastSide July Weekender is supported by Belfast City Council and sponsored by Third Source.
