From homicidal A.I. to the crushing isolation of the perfect writer’s retreat, this Double Feature promises everything you need for the ideal cinematically-induced existential crisis. We know that all work and no play… leads to dark places, so this event will be Bring Your Own Bottle, and patrons will receive a signature drink on arrival from Bullhouse East.
The Screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey will be introduced by local film critic Jim McClean, from the BanterFlix movie Review website (www.banterflix.com). After the first film Jim will be joined by the website’s Deputy-Editor Joe McElroy as they share their thoughts on the film during a short discussion that will also touch on the film’s use of A.I. that seem more timely than ever now in 2023.
After this brief 15 minute chat, Joe will introduce the evening’s second film in this fantastic Kubrick double-bill, brought to you in association with The Strand Arts Centre.
