Songwriters in the Round: Ferna, Ciara O’Neill & Wilfie Gilbert
Always one of the most popular events of the festival calendar, this year’s Songwriters in the Round line-up looks set to be another highlight. Lining up across the stage at this now-iconic venue are three of Northern Ireland’s best voices – Ferna (Hannah McPhillimy), Ciara O’Neill and Wilfie Gilbert. Blessed with a seasoned, searing voice and some stunning songs, Wilfie is an artist held in affection across the city, not least since the release of his excellent Miners Gold album in 2019. Ferna (Hannah McPhillimy) has played a couple of really memorable shows for the festival in the past, and is currently celebrating a musical rebirth and recently a series of superb singles, the latest of which is ‘Walk On’. And Ciara O’Neill celebrated another milestone on her journey earlier this year with the release of her gorgeous new EP L’Etoile – her sweet, emotive voice promises to sit beautifully against those of Wilfie and Hannah – a night to be remembered.
There has been a change to the original line-up for this event, with Ferna replacing Ken Haddock.
