Join Claire and Alison for a morning of rope work – explore the wall ropes for yoga and then try mindful macrame to create a beautiful knot design you can take home. Yoga kurunta is the name given to using wall ropes as a prop to help explore your asana practice. In this practice we let the ropes take some of the strain and find the extra length and freedom that allows us to cultivate. We’ll have an hour’s practice with Claire’s instruction, your yoga practice guiding the mind within and ending with a relaxation. This prepares you for part two…
Alison from ASTRL Fibres will explore the mindful practice of knotting. Alison will guide you through the fundamentals of tension and opposition, to allow your knot to take shape – a practice that will reward you with a decorative knot to take home. Please arrive promptly, ready for a 10am start. All materials are provided, including yoga mats, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you wish. Wear clothing suitable for a yoga practice, e.g. t-shirt and leggings. Claire will be in touch with all participants nearer the time to ask about any health issues which may affect your practice. Beginners welcome.
