Wardrobe Jam for Belfast Arts Weekender

EastSide Arts and Seedhead Arts have paired up to devise a celebration of all things urban.

Wardrobe Jam will take place on Saturday 3 March in C.S. Lewis Square 1-5pm. This is a free event running as part of Belfast Arts Weekender supported by Belfast City Council. Local and international street mural artists will be working live in the square to transform a carefully selected group of ‘previously loved’ wardrobes, as well as permanent walls in the surrounding area. There will be Urban sports including BMX, half-pipe ramp for skateboarding/ scootering classes and Thunder Action Sports will perform break-dance displays and tutorials. Electro-Indie-House-POP Duo Le Boom and GIRL DJ Collective will be keeping the tunes flowing throughout the day.

Also taking part in the Belfast Arts Weekender are neighbouring Creative Exchange Studios. Lightning Talks will take place Friday 2 March 6pm in The Engine Room Space, Portview Trade Centre. This event offers an informal networking opportunity featuring Lightening Talks by local individuals and organisations who are shaping east Belfast's growing cultural landscape. Booking is now available from: www.eastsidelightningtalks.eventbrite.co.uk

The Belfast Arts Weekender will consist of two packed weekends of creative events across the city during 2 - 4 March and 10 - 11 March 2018. Belfast Arts Weekender was conceived by Belfast City Council to help animate different corners of the city through a varied range of interesting (and free) collaborative cultural events. Following an open call to arts and cultural organisations in 2017, seven projects were chosen to take part over the first two weekends in March.
