C.S. LEWIS WRITER’S BURSARY WINNER ANNOUNCED

EastSide Arts, supported by Arts Council of Northern Ireland, is delighted to announce Christina Collins as the winner of the inaugural C.S. Lewis Writer’s Bursary.

The bursary, which celebrates the legacy of C.S. Lewis, will provide Christina with an opportunity to develop a new piece of written work. Christina, who has Irish/Armenian heritage, immigrated to NI from America in 2015. She will use the bursary as an opportunity to work on a new young-adult novel, partly inspired by her own experience of emigrating to Northern Ireland.

The C.S. Lewis Writer’s Bursary was created to examine what it’s like to arrive in Northern Ireland from somewhere else, or what it’s like to call Northern Ireland home if you have joint heritage. The bursary was open to writers of any genre from our diverse communities, currently living in Northern Ireland. The bursary is worth £1500 and has been supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
