Back in 2023 we were awarded a 4-year funding grant from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation to start a brand new research and engagement programme, Creative Citizens. Since then, our researchers and core team have spoken to over 900 people about culture and creativity in east Belfast and its time to put those findings into action. Taking on board the research, alongside making more opportunities for people in the area to get creative on their own terms, we want to be a strong support for professional artists.
That’s why we have launched the Creative Citizens: Artist Support Programme. Now running for its second year, we offer artists training, networking, peer learning and paid opportunities to work here in east Belfast, in conjunction with our creative engagement programme and the annual EastSide Arts Festival.
Fancy being part of The Good Eggs?

We believe that artists who invest their time in the creative exploration and expression of others are crackin’ so we’d like to work with more of you. We’d like to create a network of trusted artists called The Good Eggs and in order to be a part of it, we’d love to take you through some training first.
We are currently recruiting for ‘ENHANCE’, our free creative facilitation training day in partnership with Anann’s Arch. Across the day we’ll take you through the important considerations of creative facilitation, the business of working as a freelancer, planning and delivering workshops, and give you some tips, tricks and ideas to add to your facilitator’s toolkit. Everyone who participates in this training will become part of The Good Eggs and we’ll aim to champion your skills and provide you with paid opportunities.
Our ‘ENHANCE’ day will be on Thursday 10th April, 10am – 4pm at Walkway Community Centre, 1 – 9 Finvoy Street, Belfast, BT5 5DH. This session is for professional artists who have some previous paid experience of creative facilitation and places are limited.
